This story is defined as being Historical Fiction - maybe, even Historical Science Fiction... Many historical events often have points that could have produced different results, and that is classified as a "What if...?" scenario. A few have been attributed to the event that is about to be described in this ficitional story based on historical facts. During the battle of Shiloh (or Pittsburg Landing), several actions could have created differing outcomes. One such "What If?" scenario was the battlefield death of General Albert Sydney Johnston. But... When we view a "What If?" scenario, what point of view are we seeing?

THE CHAPTERS

PROLOGUE:
      The normal closing duties of a park ranger at Shiloh National Military Park

CHAPTER ONE: (01-31-2005)
      The Alcorn County Sherrif is called to an unusual automobile accident just outside of Corinth, Mississipp. The accident victim is taken to the hospital, and then disappears during rounds. Two FBI agents have been dispatched to investigate the circumstances surrounding the mystery man - a History Professor from Covington, Kentucky, who had been in Desert Storm...

CHAPTER TWO: (02-28-2005)
      The FBI agents have theories about what may have happened to the accident victim. According to the facts, Dr. Albert S. Johnson was declared missing between April 4th and April 7th. Agent Marcus Grant wants to hear what the victim thinks happened to him during that time, so Marcus asks Dr. Richardson to read the Journal...

CHAPTER THREE: (03-16-2005)
      As the Journal is read, small items seem to contradict the reality of Dr. Johnson's report. Agent Marcus Grant seems to understand what happened, and where Dr. Johnson will be in the morning. But... He wants to hear more or the Journal's content.

CHAPTER FOUR: (04-30-2005)
      While Agent Sherman and Doctor Richardson question the account of Dr. Johnson's accident, Agent Grant suggests that something unbelieveable had taken place during the missing "time" between the reported crash, and the discovery of the accident. The Journal's account seems to place Dr. Johnson on the eve of a Civil War Battle... north of Corinth, Mississippi in the year 1862...

CHAPTER FIVE: NEW (09-15-2005)
      Agent Grant finally receives what he has been looking for - Dr.Johnson's briefcase. Inside, he finds some disturbing pieces of the puzzle, some of which can lead to some equally disturbing conclusions. In the Journal, Dr. Johnson awakens to another day in what appears to be 1862 in a house in Corinth, Mississippi. Constantly observing, he sees events and things that seem hauntingly familiar. By nightfall, he is at the Michie farmhouse, not far from what would be the Pittsburg Landing Battlefield...
