THE CHAPTERS
AUTHOR'S PROLOGUE
Please Read - this explains a little of what TRIAD is all about...
Chapter One: MUNKUSTRAP
Munkustrap stands watch as the Railway Guardian, and his day starts off badly... and keeps getting worse... Lucifer, the Vicarage Guardian, jumps him in semi-play; Pushdragon, the Sentinel, announces he will take the Choice; Tugger, his half-brother razzes him about the Queens; Electra comes along and flirts with him, and tries to get him to promise to make her a Queen; and then Cassandra gives herself to him, but the encounter goes amiss. Cassandra's Gift comes into play, and Munkustrap lives his past again... Just when he thinks the downturn has stopped, Cassandra leaves, and Pushdragon wants to know why...
Chapter Two: CASSANDRA
After her brush with Munkustrap, Cassandra must come to terms with who she is... and she gets a chewing out from Bombalurina, and then unexpected help from an unlikely source: Coricopat and Tantomile - the Dark Twins... Cassandra is shown her "Gift" - one that is two-edged like a sword, and can cut others as deeply as it can cut herself...
Chapter Three: DEMETER
A skittish stray, she enters the Yard and is befriended first by Lucifer. She also finds friends in Munkustrap and Bombalurina, and is welcomed by Old Deuteronomy. Many are not sure of her relationship with Lucifer, since his personality seems a bit... off... Jellylourm is the first to see the flare-up between Munkustrap and Lucifer over Demeter. And the Infirmary Matron is worried about Demeter's safety.
Chapter Four: PUSHDRAGON'S CHOICE
Pushdragon is growing old, and no longer capable of continuing as the Yard Sentinel. He is aware of Lucifer's ambitions, and the favorite status of Munkustrap, the Leader's youngest son... Walking a fine line, he makes sure Munkustrap know what he need to understand before he goes. That night, among friends, Pushdragon requests the CHOICE, and is sent Heavyside...
Chapter Five: FALL FROM GRACE
In the aftermath of the Jellicle Ball, the Tribe is not at rest... The Sentinel's position is open, and all know Munkustrap and Lucifer are the only candidates. When Old Deuteronomy returns to fill the vacancy, he conducts an interesting interview with both candidates in front of the Tribe. He asks Lucifer, and then Munkustrap, to stand before the Tribe and tell them why they should be the Sentinel...
Chapter Six: MACAVITY
When Lucifer is denied his ambitions in the Yard, he leaves and establishes his own Empire, and discards his Yard Name and becomes "Macavity." Demeter, who mated to him at the Jellicle ball, is both in love with him, and fearful of him. When Bombalurina shows up and begins "training" with Demeter, some of the makings of a Jellicle Song become evident... and then comes the tragedy of Demeter, and the odd appearance of a couple of tigers...
Chapter Seven: BOMBALURINA
The Scarlet Queen has a lot on her hands - her reputation of being the Tribal Flirt is tempered a bit when she returns to the Yard with Demeter. With Munkustrap's help, Bombalurina settles Demeter in the Yard, and begins helping the skittish Queen reacclimate to the Tribe. As Demeter and Munkustrap seem to gravitate towards each other, the Scarlet Queen wonders about her own feelings...
Chapter Eight: ELECTRA
The Jellicle Ball is approaching, and Electra still has eyes for Munkustrap. His being with Bombalurina and Demeter is making things hard for her plans, though. And then there is the matter of Tugger... and Victoria... When Plato comes by and mentions Mistoffelees being somewaht interested in her, she hatches another plan to get some attention...
Chapter Nine: THE JELLICLE BALL (02-22-2004)
All the plans of the Tribe begin to focus as the magic night arrives... The group comes in, Victoria dances an invitation, and auditions for the Choice begin. But there are a couple of problems... Grizabella is prowling the borders of the Yard, trying to rejoin the Tribe... and, Macavity is still making his presence known, and his ambitions have grown with time...
Chapter Ten: THE AFTERMATH (06-24-2004)
What happened after the ball and the magic night has worn off... Demeter is with Munksutrap, but what about Bomba? Jennyanydots sees Skimbleshanks off... Jellylorum takes Gus back to the Theatre... Old Deuteronomy talks with the Dark Twins... and the Tribe looks to the future...
