TOIREASA and the DREAM

Toireasa Margaret Ann Barry was a special little girl, who lived more in FIVE years than most people live in a lifetime. Born January 7, 1997, Toireasa contracted Neuroblastoma (NB), a cancer that affects the nerves, the bones, and finally the blood. Toireasa fought this disease for the sake and love of her mother, Julia, until her angels told her to come "Home" on April 24, 2002.
Like her mother, Toireasa was a fan of CATS, and her favorite was Mr. Mistoffelees. RIO sent her stories featuring the Conjuring Cat. As a WISH, Toireasa was able to watch the Broadway performance before it closed. As CATS fans heard about Toireasa, they sent her well-wishes from around the world. In February 2002, 28 CATS fans collected donations, and sent Julia and Toireasa a Gateway Computer System so she could communicate with the world. Before Toireasa left us, many fans said "Goodbye" in a special story written by RIO…
This section has three links to allow you to learn about Toireasa:

MIKEY and the RAINBOW BRIDGE

Mikey was the beloved cat of Christina Sattler, a fan of CATS. One day, she asked me if I could write a special story about Mikey, and to have him meet Toireasa in the Heavyside Layer. After getting a little information, the following story came to me fairly easy.
Anyone who has ever had a cat will recognize themselves in this story. The term "Mistress" could easily be substituted for "Master" and Mikey's name could be changed, but we all go through it... When our beloved cat dies, we find ourselves with a hole in our hearts - a hole the shape of a cat. This hole eventually heals, but never completely. We always remember our feline child... Cat People will understand that referrence...
The poem, "The Rainbow Bridge," is a moving message to us, and I chose to make it part of the story you are about to read. All of us who has lost a pet will recognize the feeling here - that when our time comes, we will find our beloved pets one more, and they will share the peace of Heaven with us.
So now, journey with me as we follow Mikey to the Rainbow Bridge...

WE SHALL MEET IN HEAVYSIDE

A special request story dedicated to Amanda, a fan of CATS. This story concerns a twin who dies of viral pneumonia and the effect she has on her sibling.
Although the story itself is fictitious in many ways, the body of the story is based on the loss of a twin sister, and a eulogy given by the surviving twin.

9-11-2001 TRIBUTE

In New York City, a pair of ghostly outlines are remembered in honor of the many who lost their lives – doing their jobs, living their lives, or planning their day… The people who died in the WTC, the Pentagon, and in a lonely field in Pennsylvania were from all walks of Life, of different religions, nationalities, ethnic backgrounds… These people were the true martyrs… Pray for the families, the loved ones, and the friends of 9-11… Learn to treasure Peace…
