Welcome to the
Jellicle Chronicles. To paraphrase the line from the Musical – “What’s the
Jellicle Chronicles?” Webster’s Dictionary indicates that a Chronicle is a
recorded series of events. As to what a Jellicle is,… If you do not know what
they are, you have not:
(A)
read T.S. Eliot’s Old
Possum’s Book of Practical CATS, or;
(B)
seen Andrew Lloyd
Webber’s musical CATS.
If either of these is the
case, you might want to backtrack a little and do so before you read the
stories tied in with this site.
The main purpose of
this site is to provide a series of fictional stories on the Jellicle Cats that
were brought to life in the Musical and through T.S. Eliot’s Practical Cats.
For such a purpose, I have written a string of some events that “might” have
happened after the Musical ended. If you are looking for some goodies on the
Musical, such as pictures, artwork, photos and other such things, I would like
for you to journey down to the Favorite Links section below. If you believe I
need to include one you would recommend, let me know in Contact Information.
I am sure there are more, but these will do for a start. I decided not to
include all the goodies because the other sites already have them – so why
duplicate the best?
Please enjoy the site,
and, once again, Welcome!

Contact
me – Hey, if you like my
stuff, tell me about it! If you don’t, please follow one request – treat me
with respect, and I will honor you likewise. Seriously, I value your comments
if it will help me write better stories.
I am married to Sandra, but have no children. Presently,
we are owned by a cat (Jamie). We lost Laura, our Tortie Tabby, who had a
wonderful deep resonating purr, thus giving me my pen-name. Now we have another
ditz of a dachshund – Maggie – a black and tan miniature…
I
became a fan of the musical CATS when it toured Los Angeles and played at the Shubert
(Hollywood) in the mid-1980s. Later, when the video of the Fantasy Cast (UK
Version) came out, I renewed my interest in this wonderful play. If you have
never seen CATS, I highly recommend it, but after you have read T.S. Eliot’s
PRACTICAL CATS. The musical is a wonderful blend of the musical and dance
theatre, with a stunning set, beautiful use of make-up and costume, whimsical
songs, and spectacular staging of lights and effects. You may wish to see the
musical a couple of times, at least, because of its fast pace, and the numerous
antics of the cast. Look for the Touring Company (US V) to visit your area, if
you live in the States (We lost Broadway’s version on September 2000). London closed on May 11, 2002, and went to a
touring show (UK III). Still, the musical does have some international
companies, and tours. Of course, there is always the video!
I finally
was able to travel to Scotland to see RIO, Ahdeya and Michaela. Together, we
were able to see CATS at the Playhouse in Edinburgh in 2003 when it still had
several members of the New London cast. This set of performances had to be the
best of all my experiences because it included a backstage tour that showed us
practically EVERYTHING…

I would like to thank
the following for their inspiration and contribution to the creation of this
site:
Anna-Karin Larsson
– For first-reading of the
stories, help, artwork and illustrations, getting me hooked writing these
stories, and being a good friend with a good sense of humor!
The UK Video Cast –
For a wonderful production of the musical that I can watch in the comfort of my
Living Room whenever I want. You did a wonderful job, and I would love to
receive an autograph from every single one of you (really!).
Paul McFedries and Alpha Books QUE – For giving me, and anyone else who wants to build Web
Pages, a humorous method to do so. Thank you for authoring A Complete
Idiot’s Guide to Creating Web Pages.
The Really Useful Group, T.S. and E.M. Eliot, Andrew L. Webber
and Trevor Nunn – for building the blueprints to the
Jellicle Cat and the Musical CATS.
