If you look carefully at the license plate on the trunk of the old car on stage, you will find a license plate or tag. If visible, you might also find a name and number beneath the license number. The NAP in the namber stands for John NAPier, the original set designer. The name below represents the Associate Designer. The numbers are significant too. The number following NAP is the number of the production of CATS using Napiers design and the number following the associate designer name is the number of shows this designer has done. Thus, NAP 7 / HUESSY 5 means this is the seventh production using Napier's design, and Raymond Huessey's fifth show. Note: Look closely at NAP 12 and 14. Notice that one plate is black and white while the other is orange and black. Same production, but sometimes different country. With each production, only the numbers on the license plate change. See NAP 17 below as a visual example.
