CIRCLE OF CATS
By Dennis C. Callin (Rumblepurr)
|
A watch by night
By candlelight.
Eyes that glow
In the shadows show.
Pointed ears
Slight sounds can hear.
Whiskers twitch
In breezes itch.
Noses wet bright
Scent things in the night.
Mouths smile
At thoughts feline wild.
Rattling purr
In chests under fur.
Soft are the paws
That hide sharp claws.
Tails in the dark
Curl question marks.
Jellicles all
That answer the call.
In moonlit night
Silver orb shining bright.
A flicker of flame
Contemplation of the Name.
A silent Voice
The thought of a Choice.
Throughout the Night
Search for one that is Right.
The call is given
Stars shine in Heaven.
Extinguish the light
Paws touch, softly patter
A new day starts
Sorrow in their hearts.
Sun appears in the dawn
The Jellicles are gone…
